I presently listen to music on my ipod now when riding my RT, but would like to have a helmet headset that would enable me to take cellphone calls, if needed. I would rather use the Shure "In the ear" earbuds that I have instead of helmet speakers. I can listen to music at a much lower volume and plus they act as earplugs blocking out the windnoise. Will either of these systems allow me to plug in my earbuds to them as it comes out of the box? If these don't, is there a system that will?

The Sena will allow use of earbuds. You just need to get the optional earbud hook-up.
I got mine from rocketmoto.com they are cheaper than the sena website & know the equipment very well. Just contact them and tell them what you want to do.

I use the Sena with ear plugs. The volume goes high enough to listen to music, talk on the intercom with other riders and make phone calls with the plugs in your ears. Very easy to work all the contols with a gloved hand.
