Prospective GSA owner Intro

Hi, I'm in SoCal and currently ride a Honda NC700 that I purchased in 2012. Optimally would want a bike I can wrench myself as I do now but am aware the newer bikes no longer have manuals to do that which is for me a inconveniences.

Now, going about doing my due diligence towards more travel and moto camping I'm looking into either the 1250 GS or the GSA. I'm 5'9"with a 31"inseam so while I can flat foot the GSA in the showroom, my concerns are how manageable this bike would be should I take it more off road. So, I will be pursuing the threads to gleam recommendations for this bike and accessories. Thanks in advance.

I parked my RT next to a GSA the other day. The GSA is a big bike in comparison. I don't think I'd want to wrestle one off road, but many do. Unless you need the extra range from a GSA, I'd think the GS would be more manageable. But I haven't ridden either one, so this is just speculation. Good luck.

The GSA is around 600 lbs and is heavy especially if you want to treck through the woods but since you are 5'9" I wouldn't worry about that too much!
