I thought I'd get a second opinion (or many more) on an ongoing problem with my wife's 2002 BMW car with 36,000 miles. Throughout the warranty period, we have had problems with the headliner on the top and sides coming unglued. The seams on all leather seats, front and back are deteriorating.
The car was bought new from a BMW dealer in town and they have done all maintenance on the car. Dealer, throughout warranty period fixed the headliner problems at no charge and now that it is out of warranty, there are more headliner problems and seats are falling apart. Dealer says they will do repairs at no charge if we buy parts at $850.00. I called BMW and they say it is a dealer/customer issue.
I thought about elevating the problem to BMW and the dealer ownership but felt a second opinion from more knowledgeable people on this board would be helpful before I went off on an unarmed fight.
Any suggestions or hints on a better way of handling this problem or should I just suck it up and now start paying for the repairs?
