Installing Improved BMW CB Communicator part #71600441937 and need a little help with the Pin #5(On the stereo) location and how it is physically removed. I assume I remove the male pin from the radio, then insert the remote sense wire male pin and connect the original pin male from the radio into the T female connector. A picture or two would really help. Actually any help will be of benefit. Regards Lewis

This is in German but the little connector bottom right is the one you want as this is how Voice II ties into the radio. There will be a metal shell around the connector and a blue clip that must be removed to swap out the pins.

Thank you for the reply and connector picture. I think the rest of the install looks straight forward. I'll do like many have suggested, make sure the grounding connections are right. Lewis

When I installed my CB I found that the replacment pin furnished with the kit was not correct for the voice II on my '06. Since this is only sensing for the relay that supplies power to the CB I simply tapped into a 12V source that is switched with the ignition. If you can tap into pin 5, go for it, but if not, any switched source should work just fine.

Jim, thank you. Actually I installed the 1st prototype BMW CB Communicator in 2005 and could never get it to work properly. I during that install, tapped into a switched 12v source as you have suggested. I will just do that again as it will be much less time consuming. I hope the "improved" version works. Lewis
