The hard top lifts off and stows away leaving the soft top to be used in its' place. A great combo for this part of the country.

Very nice, Loren! I had a '99 Ci - a fun car! I didn't realize the '01 came with a hardtop convertible - very nice! Have a blast with it! :thumb:

Way to go Loren. I am enjoying the heck out of my 2004 Ci convert - no hard top but our winters are mild. Had to drive it to the Smokies instead of the bike due to a pinched nerve in my back. Still had a ball on the Dragon.

When are you going to paint it purple?

I'm loving it. We got it cuz my wife's car was going to need some xmission work($) and I hated the darn thing anyway. The 01's came with a matching hard top IF you ordered it as an option from BMW. My wife HATES convertibles almost as much as she hates to "tip" on a motorcycle. They are too noisy and she doesn't like the air blowing on her. Funny thing, the last 2 nights she has driven it home the top has been down. Hmmmmm.
In all fairness the only other convertible I have owned was a 1969 or 1970 Datsun SPL 311 roadster. It was noisy and the wind blasted you.

As far as the purple paint goes...... do you think there is enough purple paint in the world to cover the thing? LOL

Nice Loren, how about a side car on it? Would that be a ghetto mod?

In order to not stir the pot I will not mention the 350 mile round trip it took to the beach yesterday. Perfect sunny warm weather. Ummmmmm.

Loren,

Sure would be nice if ya could join in on the fun the guys from Seattle area and Portland enjoy from time to time. Maybe you could join us for one of our get togethers sometime? Half of the guys and gals live either in Vancouver or around the Portland area.

Great looking car, I have a 528i and really enjoy. A BMW convertible sure looks fun.:D
