First of all, just wanted to say what a great sight this is, I've been a member of many bulletin boards and even admin'd a few and this is by far the best example of what these were designed for...networking at its finest!

I saw on here, I can't find it now, the PHID 2002 Kit (philips HID driving lights, eyes of god, etc.), so my qustion is can these be installed under the lowbeam light (where some fog lights are installed on other bikes) or is there not enough room? I love the sleek stealthy lines of the bike and don't want to just hang lights out of the lines for sake of having them.

I know, these are made for driving lights, but I go totally overboard and it would be nice to have them when I need them.

Alrighty, first one out of the gate and its a stumper. Guess I will just buy them and see what happens.

I don't think they'll fit under the headlight, as the fender comes up pretty far when you hit a big bump. Best thing is to hold them in place and see. But you're better off putting them higher anyway, as you'll get more useable light onto the road ahead. There are several places you can get brackets that attach around the mirror area. Look through the other threads in this form for various options.

Probably not a stumper for a lot of people here. The problem is having all these areas to ask questions. I would wager only 10% of the folks check these sub forums.

I say go ahead and break the rules and put it into general discussion. The masters of the domain will leave it for a couple of days.

I'm thinking of removing the high beam lens and build a fiberglass fairing around a couple of Micro DE 's in it's place. Of course with driving lights the higher the better so under mirror may be the way I will go.

I don't think they will fit either, but I am trying to keep the bike from looking like it has a bunch of addons to it or (baja lights) sticking out of different places.

Obviously, its all personal preference, but under the lowbeams or on the calipers is really the only place I am wanting them to go.

What about...and I know this is crazy, but hey thats my middle name....replacing the stock headlamp and using these Philips lamp? How much trouble am I asking for?

I had these on my LT, mounted under the mirrors. In fact, I had the first set of them in the US. They are not "Philips" HIDs, but lights made by Sirius, with Philips ballast and bulb.

The looked nice mounted under the mirrors, the shape looked like it was made for the LT. Unfortunately, the light pattern from them was HORRIBLE. The lens/reflector were made for fashion, not light focusing. They threw all kinds of flares and sparkles widely around the main beam, which itself was poorly shaped.

Not sure anyone is even importing them now, but if they are, stay away. I was in the process of trying to modify a Hella FF50 driving light to accept the bulb/ignitor from the Sirius lights. Totaled the LT before I ever finished though.

Have you seen the Ducati Designs headlight assembly? It's not cheap, but is very well made and looks great on an LT. Another option is to convert both stock bulbs to HID. For around $230 shipped, it's probably the best thing you can do to an LT, and it doesn't change the looks of the bike at all.
