Short story..after a stroke in 2017 its hard as all to raise my leg enough to cleanly clear the back of the bike every time, maybe 1 in 3 times a boot doesnt hit something...

I have Xpel film coming to cover bike surfaces (love this stuff on my 928)..and it will help, but will still show scuffing, but not mess up the paint at least.

Anything else I should be looking at?

Have you tried with the bike on the side stand putting your left foot on the riders peg and then swinging your leg over?
Honestly, I have not. But that will turn into a 'trust' issue, I lost my right side inner ear, so when I lose contact with 'level ground' a level of vertigo creeps in. But two feet on pegs, and the bike maintaining a 'level feel' as it leans and rides, allows that new sense of 'am I standing up straight' still work, and has proven to work the same way when flying too. :)

But..I'll try that out!!

Im literally learning to ride a bile all over again..had the 650GT scooter for 3yrs..was fun, but allowed a few bad habits to take hold I'm learning now too.

I bought some Isotta pannier top racks so that I could pack extra luggage on my bike when travelling with a pillion. A bonus (not the intended purpose) since buying these is that I can no longer scuff the top of the pannier cases.
It might be considered a bit overkill if you were only using them for their protective qualities though. :giggle:

Those look good for loading stuff, but they also look like a pain to clean underneath.

The whole standing on the foot peg to swing your leg over whilst the bike is on the side stand thing. Doesn't that put a whole load of extra strain on the stand, bracket & pivot in a way that they were never really designed to take. Or is it just a none issue as they're just super strong?
Any long term owners got tales of woe or indeed praise for the sturdiness of it?
