We took a month long motorcycle trip this summer, my wife flew to Denver while I pounded out the miles to Colorado and then we went to California and north on California 1. Cherie was a real trooper even when she started to suffer from altitude sickness on our third or forth day in Colorado. We made lots of lasting memories and had a great time.

Thanks everyone for the comments.

We mostly had good weather but on the way to Colorado I experienced two storms. The first one right after I checked into a hotel in Peoria Illinois and then the next day I sat in a Subway restaurant in Marysville Mo. for two hours waiting for a storm to pass. I picked my wife up at the Denver airport and we did not see rain again until we where in northern California at The Sea Ranch. We rode pretty much a whole day to just south of the Oregon border in rain. Then the day after I dropped Cherie off at the Vancouver airport I came into a sever thunder storm accompanied by hail in Canmore Alberta, a golfer was struck by lightening at that time. I hung out in a coffee shop for 90 minutes or so and headed to Calgary only to catch up to the weather. Stopped at a Starbucks there and talked to Cherie on the phone telling her that I may have gone as far as I was going to go for the day. Before looking for a place to stay I checked the weather radar and found that my route east was mostly clear so I got on the road again and made it to Medicine Hat Alberta before calling it a day. After that it was all clear sailing except for some periods of heavy fog around Lake Superior.

Great pictures Gerhard. It looks like an incredible trip. I'm glad your wife could join you for a good part of it.
