Laid it down in the gravel today. My friend is selling his house and hauled in gravel loads to dress up his lengthy driveway. I should have known better when I rode it the other day and survived. Somehow today I managed to find a spot about three inches deep and it sucked me down like quicksand. Dropped her on the left side and then slid into the ditch on the right at less than 5 mph and rolled it onto the right side.

Have to repaint the lowers, but no putty needed as just scratches.
Left and right foot peg plates ordered as both broke into many pieces.
Left wing cover ordered.
Left floor board in stock from last time I dropped it and ordered a complete set.
Upper part of tab on kill switch is gone, but still functions. May try to machine something.
Pride is missing.

Please return my pride if you happen to see it..........

Oh Dean, doesn't life just suck sometimes....and at only 5mph too. But is sure sounds like you're on top of getting all the bits back together again. Good for you. Before you know it, your sweet girl will be humming away happily. You know what, even at a low speed of 5 mph, it's still so easy to break a wrist or ankle if the big girls has her evil way. Glad you're Ok too.

Cheers and kindest regards

Sorry to hear about the fall and damage. Just one more account about how poorly these things handle off road.

I had my right foot peg welded back together and it is better than new. Don't see any hope for that solution here.

Glad you weren't hurt,

Loren

Everytime I ride with other riders and they pull off onto a dirt or gravel shoulder I cringe. I always try to park on balcktop in those situation if there is the slightest amount to do so. I usually park in the space between the white line on the shoulder and the gravel as long as its safe. It bad enough in parking lots at low speeds, on gravel is just plain scary.

Glad you are OK!

Thanks to all for the words of encouragement. Parts should all be on the way tomorrow. I started the prep work for the paint today and hope to have it back on the road by the weekend if all goes well. Then I intend to go for a nice ride on a paved road and I'll post a photo when it's done.

Dean, I am glad you are okay.

A couple of years ago my wife and I were on the LT and were directed around a barricade at a parking lot at U of I in Champaign, as they still had space for cycles. However, it was mid season, and they had filled some deep holes cage tires had dug in the dirt with gravel.

Little did I suspect that there was a foot of fairly loose gravel. The back tire dug in deep enough to push the passenger footrest up and catch my wife's foot and when the bike fell, it broke her leg.

Yes, gravel an be a bitch.

As I said, I am glad you are okay.

Dean, glad your okay and sorry about your scoot. Nice job on the lowers--I will have to keep you in mind just in case...(knocking on wood and crossing my fingers) something like that happens to me.
