Howdy All:
Have a 2011 R1200GS just about to hit the first service mark at 600 miles. Unfortunately, it has developed an odd shimmy. I searched the forums but couldn't find anything similar.
At anywhere between 65 and 75 mph, there is a shimmy/vibration that starts at the front and works its way to the rear of the bike, and it happens about every 2-3 seconds until I drop out of that speed range. It also happens regardless of the gear I'm in.
I checked the tires and weights and couldn't find anything obvious.
Any ideas? I will ask the service guy when I bring it in, but was hoping someone out there might have an idea what it might be.
Thanks very much for your help.

Have them check the balance on your tires, check them for out-of-round, and look for lateral run-out. Sounds like a tire issue to me.

Take it to the dealer... It might be the rear tire is not torqued down all the way. Happened to a friend of mine.

If older, I would say it is the tire cupped/feathered. Have had this on LT- violent head shake. Changed the front tire- problem gone.
