I recently [about 2 months ago] performed a 60k service on my 2000 LT and replace the O-2 sensor with an after market sensor. I was averaging about 44 mpg and am now averaging about 38 mpg. The old sensor was an oem and was covered with flaky soot, indicating a rich running condition, to me. I have a Remus exhaust system...I did the throttle reset. I did ride it hard during my initial few days of riding after the service [not a departure from the norm]. The aftermkt sensor had a fancy compression connector to connect the sensor wires to the bikes plug wires. Any ideas why the lower gas mileage?

No suggestions except that my mileage varies 10% winter to summer due to EPA regulated mixtures.

Hello lartross

When my O2 sensor went down I got 34 MPG , Un plug your sensor and see if it makes a difference - it will not run noticeably different , just black smoke during blast off and lower mpg
