Riding to Nova Scotia in July from upstate NY - any advice for great places to visit, stay, eat etc? Thanks!

Stay at Cabot Shores on the east side of Cape Breton on the Cabot Trail. Make a side trip to Prince Edward Island.

+1 on cabot trail and Baddeck has the National Historic Site for Alexander Graham Bell. Stayed at McIntyre's Housekeeping Cottages just outside of Baddeck. Real nice owners and cottages were very clean. Hope this helps

Again +1 on the Cabot Trail. My wife and I are going in the last week in June. We will be headed to Halifax for a day. (staying downtown at the Haliburton House). From there we will head to Cape Breton and spend a few days at the the Normaway Inn. A beautiful place with great cabins or lodge rooms in the town of Inverness. I hope this gives you a couple more options to explore.

+1 on Normaway Inn. If you are in a group ask them about renting the Blue Barn. We were 5 guys and it was very comfortable.

Also, head down to the annapolis Valley and Bay of Fundy. 40 foot tides, whale watching, and fabulous Digby scallops

My wife and I are heading to Newfoundland in July and will be in Nova Scotia for few days end of June. We are staying two nights in Mabou on Cape Breton. Looks like there is lots to do and see in that area. Last year we stayed in Louisbourg on Cape Breton which is near the old french fortress. We crossed the Bay of Fundy from Saint John NB to Digby NS and met quite a few folks on bikes which made for good traveling companions.

It is a beautiful part of the world I think you will have fun
