Just wanted to share some of the most fantastic roads too date ridden here in Nor-Cal.
We just went out for 4 days pulling the camp trailers doing 1100 miles exploring few roads I had seldom traveled or just done sections of ....
Leaving Placerville east hwy 50 to hwy 89 north up to lake Almanor headed north on 44 out to medicine lake, gas in Mccloud then a loop around Mt. Shasta ending up on hwy 97 south to weed. ( sections ridden before but quite scenic never the less )
From Weed just 2 miles north of town up hwy 5 is a turn off running up into the Scott mountains coming out on Hwy 3, north up 3 to Callahan onto Cecilville road headed west down the Salmon river to Somes bar on Hwy 96 ( This near 100 miles of 1 to narrow 2 lane twisties in the boondocks !! )
Hwy 96 south to 299 and west to Arcata then down Hwy 101, following avenue of the giants in the Redwoods back home.
Damn what a fantastic state we live in ... simply AWESOME country to see on a bike.
