Had my right shoulder replaced 8 years ago when I was 42. 400g of Ti within 6 weeks I was back to normal life and I'd guess 75+% range of movement returned, it was replaced as I wore the joint/ball away and it wouldn't hold in place. Due to go in for my left to be replaced on the 7th Jan for the same reason, but now they put less in and also I was told a less invasive op so should be back to normal life quicker.
After the last op and recovery I've been able to do everything I wanted inc motorcycle racing and the odd crash on track with no issues at all, the only downside I can think of is when its very cold I can feel it in the joint and it stays cold longer too. My loss of range of movement is down to muscle, tendon and tissue damage not the joint its self.
