I bought a 2003 LT Saturday. My wife has been wanting to ride more and we are wanting to take some trips. Kids are grown and gone so now it's time for me and momma. I've been riding a 1998 R1200C.Good for just me but not so good for 2 up..

The bike has Moto lights, Ztechnik Vsteam windshield, fold up highway pegs, Rack on top of tour box with led lights, BMW cup holder, and is the brown color.

Nice ride, smooth, plenty of power, and handles way better than one would think. Only down side is only had a chance to ride 2 or 3 hours since I brought her home. Been cold and rainy.

I was flipping a coin between this bike and a Harley Ultra Classic. Half the price and a coin on tales and here I am.

Welcome to the "Nut House" Dana. You will find ALL the info you will ever need about the LT on this site. Let the "Search" feature be your friend. A few get togethers' are coming up that would be worth looking in to. The first is BMWMOA RALLY then in September is CCR . While both are quite different events they both have one thing in common the BMW motorcycle. :D On the home page HERE you can find some more BMW related get togethers.

Welcome to the "LT" club. I bought mine new in 2002 and ride it mostly solo. Its a great bike and not my first "beemer" by a long shot. If you are over 40 another great group to hang out with is the Retreads (http://www.retreads.org/) which is an international club of riders over 40 and the BMWRA which is also having a rally this summer in West Virginia (http://bmwra.org/rally/). Have fun and well see ya'all on the road.

You got twice the bike for half the price! Good deal all around.

Dana,

Welcome to the fold. I pass right through Cleveland on my way to the Ironhorse up in Stecoah, NC. You should come up at least for a day trip and meet about 40 other LT riders at our Spring Training Camp. I'll be up there 15 - 19. Check out the info in the "Rides" area. Hope to see you there.

Another advantage to the LT is that you get to ware good looking riding gear instead of black leather and silly looking helmets. Plus, you don't have to get any tattoos! :)
Best from warm Tucson
