Greetings to all: I am a new BMW owner, my first BMW, a 2004 K1200 GT in Orient Blue Metallic, which I bought with 9921 miles on Jan. 28 and rode my baby 90 miles home. My name is Paul, but many know me as Rip, and I live in Stamford, Ct. For the riders who do not live in the northeast, riding in Jan. or Feb. is a blessing. Last year at this time, we had over 5 ft. of snow and the last 2 days it has been over 50 degrees with blue skies.
I just joined your site, as well as other BMW sites, after buying my bike, and would like to thank the veteran owners and members for there posts which was very helpful and appreciated in my decision making process.
I have been bikeless for over 5 years and have no riding mates to share my excitement and great fortune with so I share it with you. This is an incredible machine. Fast, smooth and it just looks great. I haven't ridden any other BMW's so my knowledge is limited to my bike. You can't go wrong with any of their models.
I hope to meet up with you this year at the various rides and rallies that will be here in the northeast. Sorry for not being able to meet up with the riders out west, but a bit to far to go this year. I would like to thank the riders out west for letting me know what I was missing. Having traveled out west the past few summers and seeing all the riders and talking to some, I realized it was time to back to the love of riding and the open road.
Thanks for reading my post and I will post some pics asap. Hope you all have a great riding season with smooth roads, blue skies, the wind at your back and a cold beer or more, at the end of the day.
