You can try Trails End BMW, 212 Westwood Way, Fairbanks, AK 99709 907-479-2367. From all accounts George is a crusty old fellow, but knows his stuff and will take good care of you unless you try and boss him around or otherwise piss him off.
You could also try The Motorcycle Shop 400 W. Potter Drive, Anchorage, AK 99518 907-561-1165, which is a multi-brand dealer (including BMW).
Either way, I'd call first to see if they have what you need in stock, or maybe special order it ahead of time.
The Sears Auto store in Tyler, TX (yeah, I know, it's not AK) was able to strip my tire to replace the valve stem. They had a side-mounted bead breaker and pneumatic "gripper" to remove the one side of the tire to get at the valve stem. Pep Boys and Firestone couldn't get past, "Our company liability doesn't permit . . . . ."
We marked the tire/wheel before breaking it down; couldn't balance the combo.
I did manage to contact George at BMW Fairbanks. He has a tire and I'll be getting it installed on 7/23. Only a 260 mile ride to get new tire so I think I'll be fine. George said the tire is a 5ply so I think I'm thru the first 4 plys with no cords showing.
Meeting George is a real Alaska adventure. George helped me out with a new 880 for the LT a couple of years ago, and it is definitely not like a trip to your local dealer. Well, unless you live in Fairbanks. Turn at the sign and, yes, it is down there. Let us know how you like the shop.
