I just bought a K1200 without an owners manual. The digital information strip above the 6 radio buttons is missing and I don't know how to reset the clock next to the digital gear number indicator. I think I can get an adapter to fin in the cassette tape player which will let me use a little iPod there. I need to know where to check the oil level and why the brakes squeak. I'm in Utah.

Thanks. The link led to a 31 page com system manual for a newer or fancier BMW than mine. Mine has only the cassette part. Mine is a 2001 model. I could not find a year listed or a page which showed the screen above the 6 radio buttons.

Clean that fogged screen with alcohol and it will clear up. Place the bike on the center stand and wait 15 minutes after a hot shut down. Look through the lower fairing on the right side for a site glass, oil should be within the ring. Clock has two buttons next to it on the dash to set the time.

Clymer manual is often recommended: https://www.amazon.com/Clymer-M501-3-Repair-Manual/dp/B002OQ1ZHA/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1426642733&sr=8-2&keywords=clymer motorcycle repair bmw&tag=bmwltconvert-20

Oil level is visible (w/ bike on center stand) from right side below the fin through the round window (flashlight). Should be between 1/2 & full. That glass is replaceable if it gets too hard to see level, btw. Oil filler is in the same neighborhood and requires a long neck filler funnel to reach.

Clock you have should be the older one. Two round buttons above display for hours & min. Hold the button until it cycles through the numbers or press and release to cycle. It stays where you stop.

Here's a BMW repair manual: https://www.liestores.com/upload/manuales y esquemas/Repair Manual K1200LT.pdf

I'm sure you can still order manuals (Rider, Service, Radio, Alarm........ from dealer.)
