I have sent several email notices over the past few days to the site administrator about not being able to sign in on my original sign in registration, i.e., Captain_Wayne. No response to date. I had to sign in as a new member in order to appeal to the general membership for help. There must be a problem with this site passwords - I haven't changed mine in about 4 years. I know this site has my correct sign in, Captain_Wayne, because when I applied for this new membership I entered my old sign in name and received a message that this name was already in use. Please help. Thanks, Wayne.

They had a security breech and had to reset everyone's password. They sent an email out to the address associated with your account. In the email was a NEW password for you to gain access. Once logged-in using the new (random) password they sent, you should change your password using the tighter criteria for password security. Email came out last week.

Find the email. Use the new password they sent you.

Thanks mcracer. I never got last week's email (?). But as soon as I posted for help on this site the administrator sent me the email you referred to and I was able to re-set my password. Thanks for the explanation. Sorry I had to take this route, but I didn't know what else to do to get a response. Thanks to everyone. Wayne

I'm having the same issue. No replies to my requests for help. My email address has changed, so I didn't get the password reset.
I have used the contact administrator link to send my new email with a request for help.

Here it is again.

Yup. This Password Reset Event will likely take a big toll on previous site members who have moved to new email accounts and not kept their profile current. I wonder what the percentage of loss will be? Basically cleaning out the membership history. Many people tell the site too "remember me" or save the PW in their browser. I have a Little Black Book of on-line accounts and all information associated with them, i.e.; PW, Security Questions and MY answers, Email used at sign-up. I use it almost daily.

At least the archive is still available to those who are still riding and maintaining the now discontinued K1200LT. Many of the previous owners will just be apart of the site history. I gain from their input every time I do a search and read POST's from 10 years ago. Good Stuff.

I had the same problems/got the same response (none) from the "Contact administrator link" for help. Would have been nice if the email notice of password change had not looked so much like a phishing attempt. And given us a reason for the change. (Thanks to mcracer for the explanation earlier in this thread).

If there had been a breach and email addresses had been hacked, Admin's emails with the new passwords would have gone right into the hackers' hands. From there, the rest of our personal data is accessed from profiles, so I don't fully understand the thinking/logic behind the action that was taken to close the gap.

I'm me again!

Many thanks to Jeff.

I remembered him actually caring about getting the LT back on, so figured it would be worth a shot to PM him.

A week of trying to get a password reset with no response, PM to Jeff, new password in a couple hours.
