OK, so I went cheap (in my mind, disposable) with the cylinder head guards and bought a Chinese knock-off off eBay because I thought they looked just like the BMW plastic guards. Well, they came and seem to be worth putting on my baby. The new screws all line up and go in perfectly obvious places around the cylinder heads but I can't figure out where the heck these extra plastic/rubber strips belong. Of course, the eBay auction (and every other one like it on eBay and Amazon) say "Easy install, no instructions included." I may be thick and missing the obvious, but can someone help guide me as to what I do with these?
Going on my (new to me) 2008 R1200RT.

those go in between the guard and the engine casing. it works like a rubber bushing.
so right now, without those rubber bushings, there is a gap between the guards, and the engine case, which u do not want.

you have to take the guards off (if u already installed it).

line up the rubber gap-bushing inside guard, and it should fit in, and lay it on the engine case, and install with the screws.
(sorry if im butchering the instructions....)
but you should be able to do it easily~
