I have a $179.00 Exide gel battery that lasted 3 years in my 2003 LT.
Can I get by with a $114.00 Odyssey or a $80.00 Adventure battery for far less money?
all are in the 17 to 19ah with 220CCA range. Any advice? I don't want to be penny wise and push starting. If a $80.00 battery will last two years then I could get a new one every two years for the same money as the BMW Exide battery if it will start the bike.

Yes, buy the Odyssey PC680. Best buy for the money in my opinion.

80,- $ Battery is far good enough, go for it just look for 12V 18 - 20 AH and dimensions.

I ended up buying a battery from batteryshark.com. They carry a low-cost battery for about $40 for the LT. I have to look at my other computer to give you the actual models. However, you might want to give them a call and ask what they suggest.

My battery has been flawless for me and I also have a riding buddy who turned me on to them. The only issues is that you have to make the negative side hole larger to accommodate the bolt for the LT. This will take about 60 seconds to drill.

Sure, you can spend more on a battery, but after three or so years, you can toss it out. I also suggest keeping the LT on a trickle charge too.
