David,

Take the Blueridge South from Ashville, also Cherohala Skyway, Moonshiner 28 are a couple to look at. There are a bunch others that have no "name" but are great.

Wayah Road is very good, as are any number of roads in the area around Topton, Andrews, Murphy, Franklin, NC and Tellico Plains, TN. Come up to the Ironhorse Lodge in Oct. for SMFR and you can explore them with a group that knows where to go.

I had a great ride last year from Rosman to Tail of The Dragon, Route 64 to route 129.

The problem is that there are just too many great roads in that area, unlike here where there are too many straight flat roads.

I remember pulling over, in the middle of no where, near a kilt museum, for a cup of tea and a snack. I probably shuda stopped in just to ask “What is a kilt museum doing in the boonies of NC?”

Best from tucson
