Has anyone installed the Navigator IV on their K1200 LT yet? If so were you able to successfully integrate the audio from the GPS into the Voice II system so the audio goes to the helmets?

Well, not a Nav IV but I just had a Garmin Zumo 665 (the Nav IV's twin) installed on an '09 LT with the IBM Voice II intercom and J&M helmet headsets. I haven't seen what the wiring harness on the Nav IV looks like, but the Zumo 665 was a relatively straightforward install. It isn't 100% "right" yet, but all I have to do to hear the GPS prompts (and MP3 music, etc.) is switch the LT's mode to "aux".

Where I want this to end up is: I hear the GPS prompts while listening to the factory radio, CD player, GPS MP3, or BMW CB radio without changing modes to aux. I think what's left to be done is connect some audio-out cables that the service tech left dangling beneath the radio.

Thanks Howard, what your saying about the audio of the GPS to enter the J&M Headsets while listening to the radio/XM/CD is exactly what I want. So if you/technician ever figure out the wiring to do just that please put me on your list so I will know which wires to tap into..
Thanks Howard,

Good morning Bill and Howard..

I've just installed the Navigator iv on my '99 LT.

I had to buy a new cradle from BMW which now comes with Canbus connections  so I had to chop and solder extra cable to hard wire to the battery !!

As for sound connections well if its sitting in the BMW cradle then the Audio out connection is blocked by the button section of the cradle which leaves you with 2 choices..

Use the bluetooth on the device ..or..

Find a garmin 660 cradle(apparently it fits) which will open up the audio connection side of the IV

Dont know if it helps, but I try
