I really liked the turnbuckle idea for the front wheel jack in the hall of wisdom so decided to do my own take on the concept :

These are the best I can do, it's hard to show. The easiest way to use it is to have my wife push down on the rear while I spin the jack tight. I can do it with just turning the tube by hand but it takes a bit more effort.

Hey, Ralph - that's pretty cool, and a nice alternative to the few suggestions that have appeared throughout the HoW over the years. Wish we could get yours added to that forum.

I've carried one of Dave Shealey's recommendations for many years, and it has come in handy on several occasions. Click here for the old thread which showed the item from Sears. Home Depot has a great selection of these clamps nowdays.

been using a cooler full of ice on top of a 30 pack up on the pass. seat for maintenance day. :toast:

I use a ratchet clamp from Harbor freight to hold the front wheel up, $1.99 and it works to hold the rear wheel up on a 95 rt also.

Not at all, this is more compact and cost me nothing to make.

I like the small size so you can take it on the road with you and use to remove the front wheel to have a tire repaired or repaired vs. waiting for a flat bed.:thumb:

Is that too much stress or weight on the point of attachment on the engine or where specificly are you putting it.
