Hey NW Riders! Spring is coming! It's time to plan for a season of fun riding and saving money enjoying our economical motorbikes.
Here is a brief ride report of a fun trip I made last Fall, and if you happen to be in the area be sure to check it out.
Last September I rode our LTE with my friend Mark H, he on his 2001 Honda VFR, and went for a little week long ride to Tennessee and North Carolina. We were actually going to see my daughter's new home in Tuscaloosa, AL but it made sense to make a trip to see what the hub-bub was all about on the Tail-Of-The-Dragon. We also made a stop at the Barber Motorsports Museum that is a must see if you are ever in the area.
The road is well paved and fun to ride when the slowpokes are not in your way. We had one close call coming around a corner and finding a tractor trailer high-centered in a turn and blocking the road. :wow:
Comparing the "Dragon" with the many roads here on the west it ranks well but not a highway 12 in Idaho or 36, 3 and 299 in northern CA where we don't have the mega bike traffic and lookie-loo drivers that the "Dragon" seems to be plagued with. If you are in the area though be sure to check it out!
