Got the basic idea from someone I saw on a website somewhere that makes aluminum mounts to fit the centre hole on the top steering plate for the 1100/1150 bikes.
Luckly I have a 10x20 lathe so I machined this from a rod of Delrin I had kicking around, matching the profile of the OE plastic cap so as to get a real tight friction fit. Next I bent some aluminum flat bar, threaded and bolted it with a stainless bolt and presto my old Garmin has a home

Sorry but I don't have any of the Delrin in that diameter left over, I use mostly 1" to 1.5" in my work.
If I come across some I will knock you one out.
