Has anyone been successful at playing a portable .mp3 player through the radio via a FM wireless transmitter (ie Podcaster, Belkin, etc). If yes, how well does it work?

I put an extensive report on the old forum, but basicly if you use in a restrick area, were you can have one open frequency all the time, the iTrip is a pretty good option for ipod.
But for long trips, when new local radios come up frequently, it's not good.
I try about 4 or 5 devices and the best one for iPod still iTrip in my opinion

The transmitting antenna is the wire from the FM unit to the I-Pod. If you keep it vertical, your vertical FM antenna will have a stronger signal.

Also, running the I-Pod’s volume to max, increases how loud the FM is. Louder means better to fight off another signal on the same frequency.

I put my I-pod in the top case, nearest the FM antenna.

I bought a 2 D cell holder at Radio Shack and soldered the pig tails to the + and – battery terminals in the FM unit. Lasts a lot longer than 2 AA or 2 AAA..
