We did this event last year with the motorcycle ministry from my church - FAITH Riders. It was GREAT! If you're in the area on May 12 (Greenville, SC area), plan on stopping by and trying our challenges. Its free...even lunch is free! Heck, just do like some others last year and come and watch everyone else take their chances...and still get free lunch!
Based on some of the "Ride Like a Pro" low-speed, skill-improving challenges and some police motorcycle rodeo events, this event will help you control your bike a whole lot better and with much more confidence. As we K1200LT riders are constantly concerned about low-speed maneuvers, this is the help you're looking for. Including a slow race (going from here to there in a straight line as slow as possible), slow cone weaves (16' and 12'), offset cone weaves (an easier one and a police rodeo sized difficult one), U-turns (larger and smaller), figure 8's, circles (larger and smaller), emergency braking exercises, and possibly a few other challenges.
Several motorcycle ministries will be involved like the Christian Motorcyclist Association and Freedom Biker Church of Greenville. TouringSportBMW out of Greenville will be there, potentially with a demo or two. We are in conversation with other motorcycle shops in the area to come too...one a Victory dealer and I know Victory dealers like to bring demos to show off. We'll see.
