Anybody try one these From Harbor Freight before

I am think about getting one for my LT and any input will help

Used one for an LT, an RT, a R90/6 a HD Ultra and a soft tail as well as a Yamaha FJR 1300. Just started leaking fluid. Probably something loose. Never did trust the wheel chock. I use the center stand when the bike has one. Strap the center stand to the front wheel to keep stand down. Couple more straps on front forks down to the stand. Never had a problem.

I see coupons in Cycle World all the time for that lift, sale price of $299 at Harbor Freight Tools. If you get one I'd like to hear a review, there's a store here in Greenville, SC, so I wouldn't have to pay shipping!

I have one and it lifts the weight of an LT no problem, stability can be a little scary if you get the weight too far off center but as long as you keep the weight centered the lift works fine.

I have the HF #94813 1,200 lb lift, and love it. Only $50 more than the 1,000 lb lift, and much more stout. That's the good news....

The bad news is that it appears the 1,200 lb. lift has been discontinued, although it's still listed on their site.

I too have the 1200 lb lift. Never an issue using it with the LT. You do need a compressor to use it as it is air over hydraulic.

If you can order it from the web site to your local store I would recommend this one over he 1000 lb model just for the convenience of not having to pump the thing.

I bought one of the HB lifts a few months ago. I wanted the 1,200 lb model but it was not available. I got the 1,000 lb model for $299.00 with the coupon out of Motorcyclist magazine. I put an extension on the front with a stop plate for the front tire. This allows me to pull forward enough to press the electric center stand button and the tire is centered in the wheel chock. It takes between 55 and 60 pumps on the pedal to raise the LT to full height where I can put the safety stop rod in place. After that the LT is solid as a rock and I have not problems with it being unstable. It has the removable rear floor for changing the rear tire. This works great too. When I need to do maintenance the requires the center stand to be in the up position, I secure some tie down straps from the rear pegs to the tie down loops on the side of the lift stand floor. I have no regrets for purchasing the HB lift. It makes oil changes so much easier. It also makes cleaning the undercarriage areas so much easier. :)

Fyi,

Can't speak to the ownership of the lift - but I purchased the motorcycle dolly which has performed well.

I just finished replacing my clutch on an 05 with this lift. It worked ok, just keep it dead center cause it is not real steady, Also add some connections for straps.

When I replace my clutch, I borrowed one from a guy just down the street. It was the 1000 lb model and while I had the bike up on it I would use the lock bar and also set jack stands under the table for safety. My butt and the bike were over the limit, but had no problems with it at all.

And after procrastinating for while and then writing here for advise, I received a coupon in my email for 2 hr Sale last Sunday for $299 ...and bought it
I will uncrate it and try it next weekend

The first time I road my lt up on mine was a little tricky. It's pretty narrow and not a lot of space to put your feet down so I suggest making side extension or some sort of platforms you can put on the sides to get you extra foot room for dropping your feet as you ride up. I put a car tire with some plywood on top to left side of mine to give me the place for footing, have to make sure it secure and won't slide out though.

I am thinking of buying a harbor freight lift;does anybody have trouble on the LT with the plate under the engine hitting the ramp on the way up.
Do most of you ride right up the ramp with out any add on the sides;it does look a little narrow.

pics of HF lift add ons See post #9 for pics. Not sure why video, last pic doesn't work. Easy to ride onto the ramp with side rails in place.

I bought one of the HF lifts a few years ago. Manual pump is a pain. Unstable. Actually had my bike fall off the lift! That's when I returned it.

Ended up getting a Handy lift with the side extensions.

The Handy lift is so stong, I ride the bike up on it. I can even get on the bike with it lifted full height and it is extremely stable.

I have a HF lift and have no problems with it. I have it bolted to the floor and tie down the bike before I raise it up. I sometimes also jack the bike up and set the center stand when I'm working. Mine has the air/hydraulic lift and the large wheel clamp. Make sure you have some soft ties to use with your rachet straps to tie it down good before you lift it up.

My only complaint with this lift would be that it is a bit narrow when I ride up on it. Also HF customer service is a bit weak.It was not working when I purchased it and took over a month to get the parts.

Thanks guys for the information;the price is right 299 dollars with this coupon I got out of a cycle magazine;I think I am going to pick one up.
