Hey guys. Please come check this out. I've had the chance to attend two of Phil's classes and he gives a lot of really great info. Please email Megan if you'd like to attend.

It's time for our annual Motorcycle First-Aid class April 18th, 2009 starting at 9:45 a.m. (Donuts are served at 9). The class will be taught by Firefighter Paramedic Phil Challinor, and will cover everything you need to know when you're first on scene in the horrible instance a riding friend goes down. You will walk away from the day with the skills and knowledge to properly handle any emergency situation, and it is imperative for any who ride in groups of two or more to attend. A&S Powersports is supplying you with lunch, and the class will most likely run from 9:45 to 3 p.m.

If you would like to attend, please RSVP at [email protected]. Spaces fill quickly and we limit the class to about 75 people.
I hope to see you all there, and please e-mail Megan if you have any questions at all.

Thanks Megan and A&S for putting this on, and Ted Shred for letting us know, The teacher Phil was fantastic, with a good mix of Humor and Medical information. It was so refreshing to have a Fireman/EMT tell us what to do and what not to do and not pull any punches...some people actually left the room on some of the descriptions and what to do (Amputations and Eviscerations). Also gave us the latest techniques on CPR and recommended we all get further free training from our fire and police departments, not just for our fellow motorcycle buddies, but for our families as well. He also explained the "Good Samaritan laws", "Duty to Act" which only is required from Medical professionals and "Gross Negligence" definitions. Of course all of this is predicated on what you feel comfortable doing.

I highly recommend this class the next time they put it on. And they served us lunch too....grin.

Just Bob.
