The forward mirror attach clip on my K1200LT has broken out the plastic that holds the clip.

What do you grease these with to prevent them from seizing onto the studs? I've been using lithium grease, but somehow I hate to go all the way to anti seize paste.....

I don't think it's going to matter what you lube it with. If the mirror is hit or removed in a front to back motion, the forward clip is going to break eventually. I think you are OK if removing it back to front and you keep them lubed and the grease you are using is more than fine. There was a recent thread in the K1200LT subject with several ideas to repair this. Should come right up in a search.

Good luck,

Happened to mine (by previous owner) and I repaired it with full strength JB Weld. Worked great! I used Lithium Grease on mine.

THX guys - fixed w a small alum doubler and some 5 minute epoxy. This time I used anti seize on the ball studs & snugged up the ty-wrap quite tight - just in case. I'll also always have duct tape w me on any trip.
