Hi,,, I know that there are Many post about tires,,,, but this time I face to this michelin commander ll , I have the Metzeller M880 on my K1200lt, 2005. And is time to replace the rear tire that last for almost 8K
I Was trying to said that. There is the new Michelin Commander ll tire and they claim that this tire Will out last by almost twice the life of the Me 880. but Im worry of the load factor, that is 73 for the 160/70-17.
Any suggestions?

Use it if you want to die. If it goes flat it won't hold up the bike.

Rear tire must be 79V.

John
Hmm. strong answer, but well put. thanks, I will continue with the Me 880. Safety first.

I like that, direct and to the point. Also discourages a tire thread. :)
Yes, it is NOT approved by Michelin for use on the LT. Nuff said.

Yep, had a 79V that was not the R. Tread separated from the carcass. Stick with the recommended for the rear.
I went from the ME880 to the AVON Storm (REINF)..... Best tire I have ever had on this bike....no more "HUM" , never going back. :stir:

I went from the ME880 to the Storm, had two fail in a row, and went back to the Metz. Currently running BattleAx because it was what was available when I needed a tire on the road a while back, not a bad tire at all and on my second set.

Nicely put, John!
Try this Link for tyre choices which should be the same in the US as in the UK. As posted in the European section of the forums.

I though the V rating was a speed/temp value???
