Any recommendations for a map holder system for a 2005 K1200LT traveling without a tank bag?

What map case? I'm starting from zero.
Aerostich makes a product that velcros to the leg or arm. If you don't have an Aerostich riding suit (one-piece of two-piece), they also sell these:

In order to accommodate the leg map pocket you could sew some velcro to your existing riding suit, but then it wouldn't be waterproof. The arm map pocket could be used with any gear.

I use a tank bag, but the map holder on my Chicane is smaller than my RKA bag.
Got spoiled by the big map holder on the RKA.
Bought the RoadGear Three Point Map Holder.
Loop with two Fastek buckles loops over the radio head.
Single buckle loops over the hinge at the front of the seat.

Don't always need the bigger holder.
Works great for Iron Butt rallies
when I need more viewable map.

If you want a cheap waterproof map case for your LT, I've used a Gallon Zip Lock and clear scotch tape. The Zip lock can be re-sealed and the clear tape comes right off when it needs to, leaving no sticky residue. Used from the heat of Tucson to the frozen tundra without a hitch!
