I installed the WestCo battery from Beemer Boneyard about a month ago and so far so good.

Amazon has the Odyssey for $114 and free shipping.johnbaker15 said:I replaced the OEM on my 2005 with this one last year, it meets spec and seems fine( $89.00 ). They also carry the odyssey for $135.00.
There are no spec's listed for that battery, I would be concerned it isn't the correct one. Also the sides are orange maybe it's an old photo, the one other vendors list for sale has black sides. looks like thisamindtat said:Amazon has the Odyssey for $114 and free shipping.

The vendor I listed has a coupon that brings the price to $117.00, free shipping, sorry I left that out.
At least he did not ask about oil and/or tire preferences!gdroege said:Getting ready to replace the stock battery on my 08 Lt and wondered if there are any opinions about the alternatives
I'm outta here...oh...I use Castrol 20w50deanwoolsey said:What kind of oil do you guys use in your battery? I prefer Pennzoil in my Vietnamese made battery. Just kidding. Yuasa makes a fine line of maintenance free batteries. I prefer the Odyssey or Yuasa. Over on the VTX site it's pretty common to see guys with six to eight years on their O.E. Yuasa.
Preventative. Getting ready for a 3m mile trip. Original equipment battery is always on BMW charger, but recently it takes a long time to go from blinking green to float (solid green). Guess that is the right term? Anyway, still starts great and no problems with the center stand, just don't want to be out in never-never land and have to pay the REALLY BIG BUCKS, or worse yet have to push start the beast loaded with wife and all the trimmings.jorgensen said:Are you replacing a bad battery or just preventative? My 06 still has original battery and going strong. After leaving key on and recharging, I let it sit for 5 days, then it still had plenty. Tender showed green after 3 minutes.
A 3m mile trip? Do you mean 3K mile? Sounds like a great time!gdroege said:Preventative. Getting ready for a 3m mile trip. Great suggestion! I'll check the oil in my battery and get back to you. Funny...wa1200lt said:A 3m mile trip? Do you mean 3K mile? Sounds like a great time!
BTW, I only use synthetic oil in my battery. Of course I waited 12,000 miles before I switched from dino to full synthetic in order to give the cells time to seat in properly. No sulfuric acid consumption to date that I am aware of.
