Lived up there for 56 years. Get a map - riding anywhere that includes Leesburg, Front Royal, Middleburg and surrounding areas would have you going through some beautiful countryside of rolling hills, horse country and farms. All this stuff is northwest of you. Look for Routes 29 or 66 or 15 or 55 or 211. Don't go anywhere near the 95 corridor - to flat, to hot and to much traffic. From Lorton go down to Fredericksburg and go west of 17 or 3. Start with that and keep going.

+1 and you may also like Rt 50 thorugh Middeburg, past Winchester heading west. It takes you through Maryland and in West Virginia. Nice route with a few small towns with little traffic. Some sections in West Virginia the pavement get a little rough but it is great route.
