Anyone with an 04 or later LT (model with hydraulic stand), how many have had clutch failures? If you can spare a moment would you fill in a couple of details so I can get on BMW's case.

How old is the bike?
What mileage?
What was cause of Problem?
Dealer or self fix?
Warranty or not?

Also if anyone same year of bike has had rear drive failure, I feel I am just waiting for mine to go.

Still don't know the culprit in my clutch failure but a September 04 bike with just on 20,000mls on clock, I will update on failure once it has been stripped.

Thanks guys, hoping to be able to squeeze some cash out of BMW (fat chance but if I don't try I will always wonder)

See an earlier poll too...

05 model (April 04 build date ) bought new Sept 05.
Clutch fried at 16,000m (27000km).
No leaks, just worn out and slipping. Slave cylinder OK. Doing a solid workout at a track ride day at 10,000km on clock probably didn't really help the clutch much.....
Job done under warranty... Weep hole drilled by dealer when clutch changed. ... :bmw:

September '04 with 20000mi...Should be covered under warranty if it's because of a seal or slave cylinder

Slave cylinder let go on my '05 with only 2800mi on it. My dealer (Max BMW in N. Hampton, NH) was great. I had the bike back in two days. No money out of pocket.
