Guys, don't know if I'm late realizing this and it's already been discussed here, but I just had my bike in last week to have the latest software downloaded and I realized when I was out riding yesterday that the driving lights were coming back on when I re-started the bike. Must have been the most recent update.

I'm sure you'll all remember that we were complaining that we had to remember to hit the switch for the driving lights each time we shut-off the bike and then re-started - well someone at BMW must have heard the complaining and they're rectified the situation ("Rectum? Darn near killed him!").

Or maybe this is old news and you all already knew? Either way I'm a happy camper! :bmw:

I'll check on it in the morning when my dealer opens. Hope it is true.
I thought I was imagining it, maybe I was hitting the switch from memory without being aware of doing it. So when I got home I shut her down, removed, the key, re-inserted the key and fired her up, and voila, the lights were on without having to touch the button!

the "latest" software update? How many have there been?

Can't imagine how irritating it would be if you had to go to the dealership for an update every couple months, which surely aren't free...
Actually I went in last November for my 6k service and they gave me the latest update then (free) which was supposed to address an issue with the odometer rolling over at 620 miles instead of 1,000 (metric conversion error) and to address a cold-start issue.

I went back in a week back because I was still having a cold-start issue (which I'm now thinking might be bad gas from the winter layover) and while I had it in the tech said he'd re-flash the computer just to make sure the last download took. This week I noticed the change in the way the lights were working. It could have been fixed last November, or they changed something else since November, but neither of these downloads were required or were something I had to pay for.
