the "latest" software update? How many have there been?

Can't imagine how irritating it would be if you had to go to the dealership for an update every couple months, which surely aren't free...

Good dealers do not charge for software updates on bikes that are under warranty. Most are not published but are done when you bring the bike in for normal maintance.
The only major update has been the COLD START software update, it did alot more than just make the bike start better in cold weather.
There is also supposed to be one that cures the I-Pod problem that may be released soon.
