With sadness I watched as the new owner of my 2003 LTE went off into the sunset.

After 164,000 mile you do tend to get attached to the seat ( pun intended ) of a friend like that.

There is hope though....as I introduce Miss Giselle Brown Sugar ... a Super Model that now resides in my garage.

I found her on Ebay and rode her home from PA last month. She has all the bling bling that a super model should have:

Vstream shield
Bar backs
Garmin 660
J&M intercom
BMW Comfort seat
Wunderlich engine guards and BMW guards ( She needed the extra protection for her bumps)
Shift and brake extenders
28 Liter trunk
Touatech handlebar bag
Grip puppies
Premium RT package

I am thrilled that she is light and nimble and handles so well.

Congrats Ron. I felt the same way when I say my LT ride off into the sun set. That feeling went away very fast after I twisted the throttle of my K1600GTL.
How does MaMa like the new "Mistress"?

What did you get for her? Mine is getting up there and those thoughts have crossed my mind. :(

I just threw out a price of $5200 with those high miles and the buyer didn't even bat an eye. Mine was in great shape (cosmetic and mechanical) and was an LTE with all the extras and everything working.

Steve....you know how women get jealous of the new girl. She first made some remarks about her shape, etc. But now she has ridden with me several times she is enjoying it. The comfort seat was something we knew we wanted before the purchase and luckily this one had it.

The lighter weight helps her be more comfortable in that I am more confident at the lower speeds.

I installed the J&M Integratr IV in the glove box and wired it switched. We have intercom, music (MP3 from the Zummo 660 and FM from the Integratr), and GPS routing through the headsets. It works identical to the Comm system in the LTE and only cost me $165 in parts.

Congrads...

Grip puppies/???????????

That is one pretty gal. Can"t wait to meet her.

Eric
With my first LT I quickly found out that the grips on BMW's are very soft rubber. I actually wore through to the heat element and had to replace the grip.

Since then , one of the first things I do is add grip puppies for comfort and to keep the rubber grips from wearing.

You still get the heat but it takes just a little longer. Here is an article:

I get them from here:

The small size fits both the RT and LT ...you need to trim them by about 3/8 inch in length to have them fit perfect.
