At 5700km on the original Metzler Z8 ; just noticed abnormal
tire wear on half of the front tire.
Since the K bike has NO fork to cause this
scalloping inbalance in wear...What could attribute to this?

My Z8's did the same & I replaced them at about 5500 miles with PR3's. Now at 11,400 miles the front still looks new & the rear should get another 4000 or 5000 miles easy.

Dealer told me it is normal for BMW bikes to some degree, but is exacerbated by tire pressures lower than they should be.

Pressure too low... Braking during a turn...

I'm sure these bikes are just as heavy as an LT...

They're just hard on tires....But you can keep it down by keeping the tires a few psi above whatever is recommended by BMW...

And don't chicken brake during a turn.. Get your speed down before you start turning. Then power thru the turn...

But it's probably mostly normal...Tires scallop on a heavy bike.. They all do it..
