Just when I thought everything was done and I could start putting the plastic back on I discovered this half a drop of oil on the bottom of the cross brace just below the swing arm. Looks like its coming from the banjo bolt on the clutch cable. I see a drop in there hanging where the steel part meets the rubber. I never saw a drop on my stand and the fluid wasn't low when I changed it out. It looks like a quarter turn might take care of the problem. It looks like you can A. Remove the battery box. B. Drop the exhaust and take out the shift linkage. C. Remove the swing arm. Answer A and B please ??? 2005 Always forget to mention that.

Did you have the fitting off? Usually they don't just start leaking but the hose will. If it is the hose then you need to remove the swing arm as there is no easy way to get in there with it in place.

No John, I never had It off. It must be a very slow leak. I can't seem to make it leak to where I can look at it and notice it. At first I thought it was excess oil from all the flushes I've been doing. I just watched your video on weep hole drilling. I didn't want to go through that for this little leak when a quarter turn on the bolt might cure the problem.

At this point I would spray down the area with warm soapy water to remove all traces of old dribbled fluid. Then keep an eye on it after it has dried.

I'll clean it up and keep an eye on it to make sure. And if that's what it takes that's what I'll do.:dance:

Yup, it was the clutch line John. I can't even get it to drip but you can see the wetness. I guess I'll do the weep hole drilling while I'm at it. I'll try and have somebody local make me up a replacement stainless steel line. Thanks for being there with me. Or at least on video. Sorry! can't seem to get the picture posted.

I thought Spiegler made clutch lines for the K1200LT as well but I don't see them on their site. They do make custom lines so if you can't get one made up locally, it might be worth a call to them to see if they have the specs on it already.

I'll call them up and ask. I can't imagine that somebody hasn't already done this. Very happy with their brake lines. Would love for them to make a one piece clutch line for me. Still following your ordeal Richard. I wish I had an answer. At this point I'm just a really good parts changer. However I am learning so much with this bike and enjoy it as much as riding.
