Hi Gary,

We need a little more information to help you. The size is correct for the front of an LT, but you need to know if your back tire is Bias ply or radial. The R in that description is for a radial tire. and it is best to use both tires either radial or both bias ply.

The weight rating is also a factor...on the LT you are looking for a rating of 58W on the front.

Allow me to suggest a tire for you if your rear tire is a 160/70VR17.

Use the pull down menu from this page and select the 120/70ZR17 for $128.00

Ron Ayers site has them both

http://www.ronayers.com/ProductDetails/N/2105/SKU/1200181

METZELER ME880 120/70VB-17 FRONT K1200LT (110-10447) Metzler Part # 09667
METZELER ME880 160/70VB-17 REAR K1200LT (110-10448) Metzler Part # 0966800

Search on the 110-10447 and 110-10448 part #s in the search window

You can also google both these part #s and come up with lots of places.

Happy riding.

The easiest way I find the ME880 front tire & the Bridgestone BT020 bias rear tire at the different Motorcycle Internet Stores is to go to the OEM tire selection & select the brand & then the tire size.

The MSRP on that tire is around $311.00 is that the installed price?

I just replaced mine for $212 plus $25 to install. (MaxBMW)

Sorry for my english...
I changed the Metzeler 880 for a set of Avon Ultra Storm II last week.
What a difference ! The bike is transformed, especially on wet pavement. I feel as confident as I was afraid with the Metz when it was raining. The bike feels lighter and really safer both on wet and dry pavement.
I only tested them during 400 miles this week-end during a trip in Champagne (France) on twisty roads, but half of the distance under hard rain and I'm very happy with them.
I can't tell how much miles they will last but I prefer change them sooner than changing the parts of the fairing, the levers, the pegs etc... with the Metzs.
I put 39 psi front and 47 rear, two with luggage.
