I'm really keen to understand the Magura clutch slave cylinder failures, but more to the point I'd like to be able to improve the situation so we can all learn and maybe remove some risk of failure of this key part. Is there anyone with a totally trashed slave who is willing to part with it ? If so could you please PM me so we can arrange postage, costs etc. best regards, Dennis.

Thanks for that thread link, I hadn't seen it previously. Not to sure about the Buna N material being a complete solution to the failure mode. If the thrust bearing went into the piston, then it's gotta come out. I suspect the piston is heated to expand the counterbore and the bearing is chilled then dropped into position, already pre-lubed. I'd still be keen to see what could be done regarding re-lube of the thrust bearing as i suspect it runs dry after a certain time in service. If I can't satisfy myself that this can be achieved then I'll look at a changeout strategy. maybe we need a poll to get data on slave failures so we can set a reasonable mileage (for example) on when to replace the slave unit. Still need the weep hole though.
