My gas tank was off the bike for a good couple of months. It was also pretty full.
When I re-installed it the Quick Disconnects O-rings were a bit dry but I didn't bother replacing them... at first! The QDs didn't go in easy.
The engine started and after a few seconds stalled.
I tried cranking, to no avail. It appears as if no fuel was getting to the engine, no smell of it anyway. I disconnected the QDs, which was harder than usual, and I remembered how difficult they were to connect in the first place.
I replaced the O-rings with new ones, noticing in the process that the old ones were dry and falling apart. The QDs were much easier to connect this time.
The bike started at the first crank!
So if anyone runs into a hard to troubleshoot no-start condition they may want to keep those O-rings in mind, just in case!;)
