yeeee-haaaa

Not bad...........learned a lot......................
1. all farkles need quick disconnects on wiring somewhere in the middle of the run.
2. my bike came from BMW with quick disconnects !! Strange little devices but there they are................

My spark plugs were a nice tan color so my mixture is o.k.
Air cleaner was just a tad dirty so I blew it out w/ high pressure air and reinstalled.
The fuel filter change out was easy.....(I used an automobile oil filter wrench to loosen the big nut)
all in all it was a "one step at a time does it " job...not too hard.
I put the fuel tank back together and added a little fuel and put it up on a rack to assure there's no gas leak before I install it.
I'm a wee tad tired so I'll leave installation for tomorrow. (and I've been cooking an Italian beef while I was working and it's now calling to me along with its sister Corona)

congratulations

I have read that the most difficult part was the remove and install of the tank. How did that go?

I'm not starfighter, but I did it. Getting your fingers in to get the QDs may have been the hardest part. At least for me.

My turn is coming up.. Good Luck. Let us know how it goes.
Mmm, maybe time to break in the new grill tools - uh, no - that is - maybe we aughta plan another Rocky Mnt get-to-gether, eh? I just did order in the parts and bits for my 24K - good time to get some other folks gathered 'round and see if we can avoid over torquing another FD drain plug

Don't forget to reset your TPS!

Throttle position sensor, when you reconnect the battery. (if you disconnected it)

Just completed the same procedure on the Golden Dragon last weekend. Not so bad as expected. I did have to re-tap the hole in the frame on the left side as someone previously had cross threaded the bolt. Ran the bolt through the die and tapped the hole. Everything works fine now. I did replace the air filter with a K&N. While we had everything off, we (ErnieA and AlaskaFish) instaled a HID high beam to go with the low beam I already had. ALL-in-all, I learned a lot.

+1 Mine has turned 22K and want to see how energetic the 24K is. Plus there is the infamous turtle race.
