I am now a proud owner of a new '05 K1200LT. Check it out!

What an awesome ride! I was so surprised at how light it feels at speed. It will take some getting used to at low speed but it was not as bad as I thought it was going to be. I can see that the more I ride it the more I'm going to want to ride it.

I have already completed my first mod too! Let me know what you think.

Amazing what you can do with a Dremel tool, extra key and a little patiences :)

I think it will be ok in the rain. There is a rubber gasket that runs around the remote where it joins that I believe makes it water resistant. I'm sure I will find out one day :)

now get it run-in, get it serviced, then take it to a track day....
I dont know about any track days...I'll reserve the ZX636 for that :) But it does handle great, especially for being so big.

The bike is looking great have fun I have 27000 on my 05 and the smile is still there,
Now about the color: sorry to say this but I think it is the second fastest color Blue is fastest by far eveyone know that.
Have you ever seen a Cop with Dark Graphite Blocker Sunglasses on.

Ride it safe but let it have it head one in a while It will take care of you. :bmw:

your new 05 LT

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!

The odd thing about it is that it looks just like my 05 except that I had already started "farkelizing" it before I picked it up last May at CHI BMW...I live in Kent, WA (suburb of Seattle). After the rush due to riding, you will get the urge, or already have it, to farkelize, farkelize, farkelize. HID lighting first and a BAK-UP back rest, SUBURBAN rider lowering foot peg kit, CHICANE tank bag and rear rack bag and other goodies will follow. You'll learn how to take off the tupperware and tackle the mechanics just because, like most LT owners, you have an insatiable curiosity and it also saves $$$$$ and expands your feeling of ownership a couple orders of magnitude.

The knowledge in printed form and assistance from members is without a question OUTSTANDING.
I did a whole bunch of farkles myself this winter...the learning experience is priceless. Enjoy your new mode of transportation and ride safely!

Funny you say that because I am on here right now looking at how to remove the plastic A.K.A. Tupperware to get to the radio so I can remove my prewire and mount for GPS. I dont have a GPS yet and dont like the wire just hanging out there for everyone to see.

Maybe I will take it to the track and see what my buddies say when I show up all geared up and ready go! :D

Classice question from my one buddy...."where is the jacuzzi?" :D
