HyperPro Springs

Just ordered my HyperPro Springs from EPM Performance in NJ. She said that they should have them by early- mid-week next week and I should have them shortly after that.

Still $269 for front and rear in purple, you can also get them in black for about $10/spring IIRC.

Will update once I receive confirmation and when they arrive.

HyperPro Springs...Can we look forward to a documented update procedure?

I think I speak for other cheapskates..if you would be so kind as to take some pictures while swapping yours out, and document the process..that would be awesome!

+1 - yes please!
Well, after reading the forum and the accolades given to these springs, I bit the bullet and have them on order. I have 50k on the stock shocks.

My question is do you believe it/I will be fine with the existing shocks? I have read whereby some have ordered used shocks on-line but how can you really tell the mileage?

I plan on having a shop swap the springs for me.

Thanks.

James
my 2000 has the same mileage and the front strut feels the same as any new strut I have bought fo my cars - resistance pushing down and slowly extends itself when released - I forgot to check the rear when I had it apart
I like the hyperpro springs but I would have liked to just replace the front spring with new stock but you have to buy the whole unit, I ride solo, weigh 175 and the hyperpro are a little stiffer than what I would ideally prefer
the front end no longer bottoms out and the bike feels very good on the new springs
Glad to hear of the positive review on the springs Gary.

Thanks.
You will be fine, no worry. I had 100k on mine, very soft but not dangerous.
When you get the hyperpros, it will be like night and day. It will be on rails.
Great investment.

James,
Since you're having a shop swap the springs, I'd have them check the shock before putting on the new springs. If they extend and close with little resistance, then they need to be replaced. If they take a lot of hand force to do the same then they're still good to use.
When I ordered my springs, I think I remember them having a shock for the LT with a spring already on it. Just saying.
Just my .02's. :bmw:
Thanks guys for the responses. I am pretty excited about getting the new springs and the benefits they will provide.

I will also have the shop test the shocks to make sure they are good to go.

:corn:
So how do they ride? Are they still a nice soft LT ride?
it is a much more firm ride but that could be that could be because the stock shock has so much resistance to control the soft stock springs - my front shock (50K miles) and the used spare (115K miles) I bought have as much resistance as the rear struts for my cars - I only ride solo

my bike was bottoming out hard on sharp bumps (manholes dropped 1 inch) at city speeds, springs were toast, perhaps PO's were heavier than me and rode two up with luggage

no complaints, now when the bike is on the sidestand, which is all I use, the bike actually leans and I can park it on pavement anywhere

I've never driven a brand new LT so have never experienced what they rode like
Just changed my springs with the hyper pro. I have a 2005 w/ 50,000 miles. The front end would bottom out on every bump. My front fender has two dings in it. Took a whole day to replace including making the spring compressor. Best investment I ever made. The other week I went down to the Tail of the Dragon and had a blast. Bike handled like the day I bought it. +1 on the Hyper pro springs. Harold
Changed mine at 18000 best move I ever made. The bike is so much better in the corners.
I don't think you'll be disappointed.
Mine shipped out today and should be here around mid-week.

Great service by Dee at EPM!
Re: HyperPro Springs

I received an email that my springs shipped today. Woo too.

Dee @ EPM Performance did an AWESOME job of keeping me informed of my order status and intervened to keep it on track. Great job so far!

+2!
Deputy,
You have been looking at these for a long time, what made you finally go for it? I am kinda worried the front will ride too hard but its one of those things that I can do that make a legitimate improvment.

Short version: Wife told me I could.

Slightly longer version: We were out riding two up, in a turn, dip in road, bike bottomed out, bike scraped in said turn, wife's undivided attention ensued, chatter over intercom about wtf, reminded her that springs were shot, wife said better get them soon! :D
We're all in this together :D
