The previous boxer I owned was an 01 R1200C (http://vagabundo.smugmug.com/Motorcycles/Boxah/16792114_2PLxWD#!i=1266877855&k=wxm6FjW). It had its pluses and minuses, perhaps even its charms, but I don't remember any significant vibration.

I just bought an 02 R1150RT with 21,000 miles. Bike is terrific in many ways, but it seems to have more vibration than I remember the R1200C having. I feel it in the bars through most of the power range, with a slight reduction in the 5,000-7000 RPM band.

Vibration is a subjective thing, but none of the Harleys or Ducatis I've ridden had this much vibration through the bars.

Is this normal? If it's not normal, what could be causing it?

Love the bike, by the way. Bought it to take Missus Fender Bunny on rides in comfort, but I'm really enjoying it myself.

1. Synch the throttle bodies yourself.
2. Ride the pi** out of it for a few miles. Like I'm talking redline...
3. Relax the grip. Its called Soft Hands... learn to ride.

I will work on # 2 over the next few weeks.

I'll do a search on synching the throttle bodies, see if I can find.

FWIW, I have a 2011 R12RT. It vibrates like a Harley Softail. That's not a bad thing at all.

I agree, 05Train. I have owned five Softails over the years. Love. Those. Bikes. Particularly the 88" twin cam. Had to sell the last one because of financial strains on the family budget. But I plan to get another late this year or early next.

The vibes on my RT are higher frequency revs, though. They don't bother me too much, but I just wondered whether they're an indication of an engine out of tune.
