I changed the tranny fluid and measured out the 800cc. But when I went to put the plug in quite a bit came out before I could thread the plug. So I added a bit more to make up for what I lost. But now I am concerned I may have over filled by a couple of ounces. Should empty and start again?

Just fill it up to the bottom of the threads, thats it - Easy.

I just may open the fill plug until it stops running out and let it reach it's own level. That is worst place to put a fill hole.
