I have an 03 LT with 38k miles that I am trying to sale for $6800, which is to high I guess. I know it is winter, but would I really get much more in the spring? What amazes me is that an 03 Goldwing with 100k goes for 10k to 12k and they both cost about the same new.

depends upon where you live. other than a recent cold spell, lower 20s at night, it's still riding season here.

The price for a K1200LT is an anomaly...as a buyer, I feel very lucky to have such an incredible ride with the sophistication and technology that definately exceeds the GW in almost every aspect, for half the price....BUT, there is not a dealer in every podunk town all across the US, there is not a major crapload of aftermarket doodads available, and lets face it, Honda has a damn good reputation for reliability. Ya just gotta face it, supply/demand....that's what its all about...If you want to ride a goldwing, your gonna pay a lot for it, but when you get tired of riding in a straight line comfortably, you will get a lot back when you sell...with the LT...Who cares, its a party every time I get on it..I'll never get rid of it anyway, so resale isnt a factor....dos centavos!

Well, to be honest, $6800 is a little high. Reduce the price to, say, $500 and let me know when I can come over and pick it up.

NADA shows it between $6000 & $8000 so I say you have it priced about right.

The market for an LT is small but it's out there. I bought my 03 off eBay back in 06 and I bought my 05 off of Craigslist back in 2011. I looked a long time before I found one I wanted. Don't give up too quick. Not everyone wants an LT but I guarantee you that there is someone out there that will want yours once they find it. A low mileage LT like that is a good find........

The reason I got the LT for this price was basically the person did not know anything about the bike, bought it, got screwed by the dealer on numerous service items, (his words) he got put off BMW's and wanted to just get rid of it. That was one side of the story. He also said he had recently lost his job, the wife served him divorce papers and he had no money to live on and needed cash in a hurry. So it basically boils down to this, are you selling it because you have to or selling it because you want to? If you can wait a while till a buyer comes along then make up a price and stick to it. If you need to sell it because you have to have it gone next week, then you sell it for dirt cheap.
BMW's are not like Gold Wings, they have a very small niche in the market, another problem is people read about issues that LT's are famous for, being top heavy, trouble at slow speeds, final drive problems, etc.and are turned away from this bike, all they have to do now days is google LT and the good and the bad is there to read.

Be patient. Recently sold my 2005 LT. Bike was in great shape, had a whole bunch of accessories and I only got $7500 and that was after 3 months and a couple of price reductions. OH, almost forgot, the problem was the 73,000 miles on the odometer!

Damn, I was gonna tell him $150. But seriously if the blue book is 6-8K, I'd but it at the lower end and be willing to dicker a bit. I paid 3100 for my 02 last March but it needed a clutch and had 97K on it. Now at 103K with a lotta new parts on it.

Well I bought a "tacky" and needs tires 02 with 53000 on it last Aug. Paid $3000.

You might be a tad high?? but if it were me ?..I'd wait till the weather starts to warm a bit.

Wings have a much larger following,so more demand ? more money.

wait i just bought a 03 lte for 7100 thats after trade in of 3000 - the 1500 i owed on the other bike im in massachusetts 7500 is a good number here bike is solid has chrome cb radio intercom 6cd changer no headsets heated seats grips 34000 miles

I bought my 03 LT in November for $7500. There weren't many out there and it was what I wanted. This one only had 15,000 miles on it and was being sold by a dealer which meant $8100 after TTL. There don't seem to be many more available at the moment. If you can wait I would stick with that as a selling price. I forgot to check what town you are in but I would post in Houston and Dallas as well. Dallas especially has a good BMW following.

As a quick look on craigslist here is what I found.

I am no genius or expert on selling items on CL, but I did sell and purchase 3 LT's and a GSA in the last 3 years. It only takes one buyer and if you get an offer and it is close, take it and run. On ALL of my LT sales, I had on offer and took the first offer and left the ad on CL and NEVER got another email after the first offer where I sold the bike.

Funny that the GSA I had quite a few lookie-loos who wanted to kick the tires and come see the bike. But the first real offer I had I sold it.

Also put up lots of pictures and even some stock pictures. CL will now let you put up

Did you manually search all those CL places, or is there a tool for searching multiple areas in CL at one time? I used to know of one, but they were forced to shut down. I'd love to know if there are new versions available.
